Podcast & Announcement (No Tech Talk tonight)

Civics of Tech Announcements

Our blog posts are still a little off schedule, but we’ll be back to our regular Sunday blog posts shortly.

  1. Next Monthly Tech Talk on Tuesday, 02/06/23. Join our monthly tech talks to discuss current events, articles, books, podcast, or whatever we choose related to technology and education. There is no agenda or schedule. THERE IS NO TECH TALK IN JANUARY. Sorry for the confusion. Our next Tech Talk will be this Tuesday, February 6th, 2023 at 8-9pm EST/7-8pm CST/6-7pm MST/5-6pm PST. Learn more on our Events page and register to participate.

  2. Critical Tech Study Participation: If you self-identify as critical of technology, please consider participating in our study. We are seeking participants who self-identify as holding critical views toward technology to share their stories by answering the following questions: To you, what does it mean to take a critical perspective toward technology? How have you come to take on that critical perspective? Please consider participating in our study via OUR SURVEY. You are welcome to share with others. Thank you!

We have two announcements to share.

  1. I want to start by clarifying that there will be no Tech Talk tonight. We had planned to have it tonight, but didn’t get the Zoom event reset and then decided to just pick back up on the first Tuesday of February! Sorry for the inconvenience and we’ll see you then.

  2. Recently, Marie Heath, Jacob Pleasants, and I joined the Visions of Education podcast (which is my other project) to discuss the Civics of Technology project! You can listen on any podcast platform, but here is the link to the episode and shownotes. We hope you enjoy the recap of the work we’re doing and the community we’re cultivating around critical tech perspectives.

Full blog posts will return shortly!
